Over the years, Hamilton & Inches' silversmiths have been commissioned to make some spectacular pieces of silver.
Past commissions have included a centerpiece and candlesticks used at Bute House, the residence of the First Minister of Scotland; a silver gilt crown for the Lord Lyon King of Arms, made to mark Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee and The Triple Crown Trophy commissioned by Royal Bank of Scotland in 2006.
The commissioning process takes a minimum of three months involving a number of key stages: discussion of outline design concept and budget, presentation of initial rough sketches, preparation of full design drawings, production of model in required. Following final client approval production in our workshop in Edinburgh commences. For the customer one of the most exciting parts of the process is visiting the workshops to see the project coming to life before their eyes.
Commissioning a piece allows you to become part of the whole design process and to appreciate the skill of our craftsmen as your piece makes progress.
