SILVER TRUST

Since its inception in 1987, The Silver Trust has sought to promote the international reputation of practising British silversmiths by commissioning a collection of silver. The pieces owned and commissioned by The Trust are on permanent loan, to HM Government for use at 10 Downing Street.
In 2005, Hamilton & Inches were delighted to receive a commission from The Trustees of the Silver Trust to design and produce two new candelabra. Through the sponsorship of Hiscox PLC, these superb items were added to the collection. The design was inspired by a vase of Lilies, each arm is hand-wrought and the candleabra are set Cabochon Amethysts. They are the second commission that Hamilton & Inches has completed for The Silver Trust, having produced two lidded quaichs in 1997, a commission by the Bank of Scotland to mark their tercentenary. The lid of each quaich is pierced and engraved with the four flowers of the countries that make up the United kingdom and are set with Amethysts.
