THE ROLE

Hamilton & Inches, Royal Warrant Holders to Her Majesty the Queen, is Scotland’s leading jewellery and luxury goods store, creating and selling prestigious bespoke silver pieces around the world.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced full time Silversmith to join our award winning Team to create silverware to the highest quality, including bespoke pieces and prestigious global commissions.

JOB PURPOSE

• Hand make silverware items to specific designs within deadlines to very high standards
• Assist in the development of new products i.e. costing elements, making tooling and ensuring continuity of manufacture

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Production of silverware for stock and special commissions for clients.
Manage workload to ensure customer deadlines are met.
Ensure the highest quality control standards are continually met.
Train and develop junior silversmiths and apprentices.
Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
Represent the brand of Hamilton & Inches reflecting a positive image and a level of customer service that is of the highest standard.
Attend events to demonstrate the uniqueness of the pieces our silversmiths produce.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / ABILITIES

Have ability to create bespoke pieces from fine materials.
Be able to fit in with a small team of fine craftsmen, be self-starting and proactive in working to designs within timescales.
Have worked extensively with exquisite loose diamonds and coloured stones.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Minimum five years of experience.
Experience creating high value bespoke fine jewellery pieces.
Experience working to deadlines and to a high quality.
Knowledge of fine metals and gemstones in relation to the creation of and repair of a variety of pieces.
Experience with laser welding machinery would be beneficial but not essential.
