Hamilton & Inches carefully selects each of its diamonds by combining the expertise and passion of its buyers and gemmologists with the universally recognised ‘Four Cs.' As renowned diamond experts, we ensure that all our precious stones are of exceptional quality.
Cut refers to your diamond’s sparkle and vivacity. The cutter’s skill lies in maximising a stone's natural brilliance, releasing its inner fire and dispersing light through its crown in a glorious burst. It is what makes one stone dull, another good and a third magic. We always select magic.
Colour describes the hue and tint of your diamond. Starting at the highest grade 'D' (colourless), the gradation continues through the alphabet increasing in darkness. Diamonds graded up to N are seen in most jewellery, but Hamilton & Inches carries diamonds from D to G.
Clarity is determined by the number, size and position of the inclusions in your diamond. It is graded from F (Flawless) to I3 (Inclusions Grade 3). Hamilton & Inches carries diamonds from VS (Very Slight) inclusions and above, and has examples of the finest diamonds.
Carat relates to your diamond’s weight. One carat is equal to a fifth of a gram. Two diamonds with the same qualities will differ in value as they diverge in weight because of the rarity of heavier stones. Hamilton & Inches carries beautiful diamonds in a range of carat weights.
