The festive season is always a magical time of year at Hamilton & Inches and this year, we have launched our Christmas celebrations in collaboration with talented local illustrator Lydia Bourhill, who has created the artwork for our Christmas campaign.
Our Scottish heritage and long-held position in the heart of Edinburgh is a source of great pride for us, so choosing a local artist was a key focus. Lydia’s trademark loose, layered style is wonderfully whimsical, creating a look that is perfect for a time of year during which tradition plays such an important role.
To reflect our pride in our heritage, we wanted the illustration to be immediately identifiable as the Scottish capital, and Lydia has beautifully captured our position as an esteemed destination in the city, flanked by key Edinburgh monuments: Edinburgh Castle, The Scots Monument and The Balmoral Hotel.
“Hamilton & Inches is a destination for shopping for fine jewellery in Edinburgh and Scotland. Working with Lydia allowed us to create something quite unique and highlight some of the most renowned buildings in the city” says Hamilton & Inches CEO Victoria Houghton.
For Bourhill herself, the commission was a great honour. “I was thrilled to be invited to work with a brand that holds such a special significance for so many people,” she said. “Hamilton & Inches is associated with celebration- I remember receiving an exquisite pearl and rose gold necklace which had been purchased at Hamilton & Inches for my 21st birthday! This commission has meant a lot to me personally.”
The illustration will be seen all across the city throughout the festive season, featuring on Edinburgh taxis in addition to the enchanting Christmas window displays at the showroom.
