The Rolex Day-Date is the most prestigious and exclusive watch in the Oyster collection. An embodiment of prestige, the Rolex Day-Date is available exclusively in precious metals – a hallmark of its nobility, and the very finest representation of Rolex watchmaking.
A TECHNICAL PIONEER
Launched in 1956, the Rolex Day-Date is a technical pioneer. It is the first calendar wristwatch to display the full day of the week in a window on the dial, in addition to the date. It is also the first watch to be equipped with the new generation calibre that sets a new standard for chronometric performance, and is widely regarded as one of the best mechanical movements on the market.
THE PRESIDENTS’ WATCH
The ultimate status watch, the Rolex Day-Date has been worn by many presidents, leaders and visionaries worldwide. Due to its eminent wearers and its evocatively named President bracelet - designed with distinction, specifically for this timepiece - the Rolex Day-Date is known as the “presidents’ watch.” Prestigious but practical for every day, its Oyster case is waterproof to 100m (330 feet) and is available with a fluted, smooth or gem-set bezel.
Like all Rolex watches, each Rolex Day-Date is fitted with a COSC certified chronometer – a successfully and thoroughly tested self-winding mechanical movement – and is certified to perform at a superlative level as a fully assembled watch. The superlative certification assessment conditions exclusive to Rolex exceed those of watchmaking norms and simulate real-life watch wearing, giving a more representative experience to guarantee performance on the wrist.
