Rolex GMT-Master II
Developed as a professional watch for airline pilots, making it perfect for intercontinental travellers, the Rolex GMT-Master II allows its wearers to track time in up to three different time zones, including two simultaneously. In addition to its conventional hands, the Professional model features an arrow-tipped hand, which circles the dial once every 24 hours, and a bidirectional rotatable 24-hour graduated bezel.
THE PILOT’S WATCH
The bezel was carefully designed to fulfil the watch’s prime function – displaying the time in different time zones. Travellers can read their home time using the 24-hour hand and bezel graduations, and their local time on the dial via the hour hand, which can be easily adjusted. By using the rotatable bezel, a third time zone can also be displayed. Beyond its technical assets and intrinsic functions, the bezel contributes to the watch’s strong visual identity.
BOLD CERACHROM BEZEL
The watch world buzzed with excitement in 2013 when Rolex launched its latest technical and aesthetic feat - a two-colour Cerachrom bezel for the GMT-Master II. Available in blue and black on the 904L steel model, and in red and blue on the 18ct white gold version, the two-colour Cerachrom bezel fuses the technical performance of the Cerachrom bezel with the iconic aesthetics of the original GMT-Master – making it highly desirable.
Like all Rolex watches, each Rolex GMT-Master II is fitted with a COSC certified chronometer – a successfully and thoroughly tested self-winding mechanical movement – and is certified to perform at a superlative level as a fully assembled watch. The superlative certification assessment conditions exclusive to Rolex exceed those of watchmaking norms and simulate real-life watch wearing, giving a more representative experience to guarantee performance on the wrist.
